Los Angeles- We met today at Union Station. As we waited to begin the march, an LAPD sergeant and two officers approached us and asked to speak to the group's leader. We explained that there are no leaders...but it was for them to ask us our route and to tell us to stay within traffic parameters, etc. We began marching and had a good time. The three police followed us in a marked LAPD vehicle, and at times was joined by a police van (or police truck, as the Dead Kennedys named their song). A police helicopter was seen a few times, but it wasn't very low. However, it was definitely keeping tabs.
